A few days ago I got a chance to go strawberry picking with a couple of friends. We had a beautiful day with the sun shining and a slight breeze. I picked two heaping flats full of strawberries as did Allysen and Elise. After picking, we came back to our house and broke in the new kitchen with some serious berry cleaning, smashing, cutting, canning, etc... I ended up with 12 jars of jam and 15 quart-seize bags of cut, frozen berries - plus we kept plenty fresh for some strawberry shortcake! :) Yum! I'm looking forward to some raspberry picking in a couple of weeks too!
Too bad I live in Weston, Wi or I'd be right over for some of that yummy strawberry shortcake! Great job Amanda, you will really appreciate those in the middle of winter.....Love ya, Grandma
